Our history

Acadia Group of Companies is an experienced contracting firm that began in 1976 when our founders Don Swenson and Bob Armstrong established Acadia Armstrong Construction Ltd. Over time, Acadia Construction has grown and faced many changes as the industry has continued to evolve. As the company has grown, so have the strong working relationships we have formed with our many long term clients. We value client relationships, and we make a conscious choice to invest in these relationships by striving for excellent performance on each one of our projects.

Acadia Construction has changed over the years and now operates as Acadia Group of Companies. Some of the key changes that have occurred were solely focused on leveraging company synergies to enable the company to handle and solve more client problems or issues within our group. This creates a wider diversity of projects we are able to complete, faster response times throughout the lifespan of the project and delivery of an end product we can all be proud of.

2012

This brought the most recent transition in ownership of Acadia Construction, and Integrated Engineering was born. This company instantly provided a complimentary service to existing clients and helped open doors for new clients.  At this time, there was also the establishment of a new culture at Acadia Construction as the new ownership group changed the business model to become an Employee-Owned business.

2015

Since many construction projects require surfacing, granular placement and concrete work, Acadia again expanded and brought on a team of paving and concrete specialists and launched Acadia Paving Ltd.  This team added over 110 years of experience amongst the many key personal and management they brought to our group of companies.

2016

Acadia Pumping and Dewatering was established.  The general manager, Craig Moroz has spent many years in this industry. His knowledge in well point dewatering and pumping is unparalleled and he knows what it takes to get the job done in any condition. The continuous need for these services prompted the launch of this company, which now services internal projects and other external construction companies. Craig brings over 20 years of direct hands on experience to problem solving on sites.
